What a cute book for kids that has a great deeper message. My 2 year old loves the melodic rhyming scheme and the subject of the Leech, none of his other books dare to use such a taboo creature. It teaches self-love and perseverance and overcoming things out of your control and focusing on the important things, like your family and your blessings. Highly recommend this fun read.

Praise & Reviews

Frilly the little frog shares her heartwarming story, and offers hope and encouragement to anyone who has experienced the fear and loneliness it can cause. With the help of her loved ones, she learns to accept that leech on her back. And maybe even appreciate what it contributes to her life. This is a wonderful lesson
we could all use at some point in our lives.

About Devin Brady

Devin Brady is an author and illustrator with a love for all things whimsical! She loves telling life lessons through the eyes of young animals who are trying to find their places in the world. Her debut children’s book “I Have a Leech” tells the story of a young child learning to live with mental illness; a story that was pulled straight from her own experience! As an artist, she has always used a brush to tell her story. Now, as a young author, she has found a completely new way to do so.
